I’m an educator, writer, and historian in the Pacific Northwest. I currently teach history and writing at St. Martin’s University. I also provide writing coaching through Uzzielli Writing Fundamentals.

I previously taught or tutored students at the University of Pennsylvania, University of Texas at Austin. My writing and editing have supported the missions of the Smithsonian Institution, University of South Carolina, Collegium Institute, and Washington Library Association.

My own work has appeared in Arcadia, Notches, U.S. Intellectual History Blog, and other publications. I was longlisted for the VanderMey Nonfiction Prize at the former Ruminate magazine, and I was a finalist for the Penn Prize for Teaching by Graduate Students. My research has been supported by numerous organizations, including the University of Pennsylvania, National Science Foundation, and University of Victoria.

My academic training includes history of science, environmental history, and gender studies. I have presented before the Agricultural History Society, American Society for Environmental History, Joint Atlantic Seminar on the History of Biology, and National Council on Public History, among others.
